What Does an In-Person Colour Analysis Look Like?

A thorough and well-guided personal colour analysis is something you'll only need to do once in your life, and its results will serve you forever.

At Colour Pop Studio in Zagreb, we dedicate 90 to 100 minutes to the colour analysis process to determine your season, uncover your WOW colours, identify the ideal metals for you, and recommend hair and makeup shades that best harmonize with your natural features.

We follow the precise 16-season system to identify your skin undertone and main season (your "home season"). Then, we determine if you belong to any of the sub-seasons (the "flow") and finish with recommendations for hair and makeup, as well as colours you should avoid investing in.

Preparation for Your Personal Colour Analysis in Zagreb

Before your appointment, you will receive an email with operational details and a request to send a few historical photos of yourself. These help us more accurately determine your personal colour palette.

At the start of your session, we’ll go over your reasons for the consultation, followed by a brief explanation of the system we’ll use and a short preparation:

  • Remove your makeup

  • Wear a white robe

  • Use a hairband (if your hair is dyed)

We’ll set up optimal lighting and explain the visual cues you should focus on during the colour comparison.

How We Determine Your Skin Undertone

The first step in a personal colour analysis is determining your skin undertone – whether it’s cool, warm, or neutral. We compare five specific colours that help us identify whether you belong to the "warm" or "cool" palette.

If needed, we also use a neutral palette for added precision.

Determining Your Main Season – Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter

After determining your undertone, we focus on identifying your main season (home season) – Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter. We compare eight key shades from each season: neutral, white, blue, green, purple, red, pink/orange, and magenta/yellow.

During the analysis, your eye will gradually be trained to spot the differences, helping you recognize which colours naturally bring out your glow.

Checking for Your Subseason (Flow): Warm, Cool, Dark, Light, Bright, or Muted

Next, we pinpoint your subseason. By testing a few key colours, we’ll see whether you’re a true season or have neutral traits (a flow).
No matter the outcome, we’ll explore all the palettes that suit you—so you leave with confidence in your colour choices.

Finding Your WOW Colours

Once we’ve confirmed your season, it’s time for the most fun part—discovering your personal WOW colours. We’ll first determine whether gold or silver suits you best, then test up to 30 shades from your final palette to find the ones that truly make you glow.

Important: WOW colours are the ones that feel naturally good on you—or spark your curiosity to try them. For example, if you don’t like purple, we won’t insist on it, even if it’s your ideal shade. In that case, your WOW palette will simply be a bit smaller—by your own choice.

You’re also welcome to take photos with your colours or the colour flag of your season!

Hair and Makeup Recommendations Based on Your Season

Once you know which colours flatter you most, we move on to:

  • Hair colour suggestions: We’ll look at 22 hair swatches (warm, cool, and neutral tones) to find the most suitable shades for you—perfect if you're considering a change. You can even try them on during the session.

  • Makeup shades: You'll get tailored recommendations for lipsticks, eyeshadows, and blushes that match your season. Feel free to swatch and test them right in the studio.

Which Colours Can You Stop Investing In?

At the end of your analysis, we’ll also go through the colours that flatter you the least. If you still love wearing them, no worries—we’ll share practical tips on how to make them work for you.

Everything you learn during your session will also be sent to you by email, including:

  • A PDF guide tailored to your season

  • A mini and maxi version of your digital colour palette—perfect for saving to your phone and using while shopping
